Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiography, verify physician orders, and operate imaging equipment with care for patient safety and comfort. You will contribute to timely imaging workflow and quality control within a busy department.

Required AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registry eligibility within 90 days, current state license, and BLS; strong computer and communication skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT registry eligible within 90 days of employment.
• Current state license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
• Operates radiology equipment to complete imaging procedures per protocol.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission for diagnostic quality.
• Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Assists in department operations (inventory, schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and procedure explanations to diverse patient populations.
