Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to assess patients and safely perform routine radiographic procedures following safety protocols. The role serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Required: completion of an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT certification or eligibility within 90 days, and BLS. Travel between facilities may be required. On-site work in Louisiana with potential sign-on and referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• No prior work experience required.
• ARRT certification or registry eligible within 90 days of employment and temporary state license required.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and approach to the patient population.
• Performs other related duties as required.
