Job summary

University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a senior leader to oversee the Imaging IT team, including Clinical Applications and Imaging IT analysts. The role drives strategy for PACS, VNA, Radiant, and related systems, ensuring service delivery to radiology and affiliated sites.

Strong leadership, vendor coordination, and ITIL/SDLC prowess are essential. The incumbent will guide portfolio management, security, data standards, and cross-team collaboration across UCSF Health IT.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical staff.
  • Knowledge of clinical imaging systems and the policies for storing/transferring medical images (DICOM, HL7).
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking, including routing, firewalls, load balancers, and security.
  • Willingness to accept after-hours pager responsibilities (on-call) including weekdays/weekends/holidays.
  • Experience leading change management activities across multiple units or departments.
  • Experience in managing technology infrastructure acquisition and expansion, including integrating new technologies.
  • Strong imaging IT concepts and security knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to present to large groups.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Imaging IT analysts and service delivery for imaging applications.
  • Oversee imaging application portfolio and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Support small projects and capacity planning; manage ITIL and SDLC practices.
  • Develop data integration strategies for imaging workflows.
  • Collaborate with Imaging IT leadership and customers on performance, SLAs, and staffing needs.
  • Maintain IT policies and ensure security and data standards across Imaging IT.
