Tech Firefly seeks an experienced Radiology Imaging Applications Manager to lead a team supporting mission-critical clinical imaging applications within a large health system. This contract-to-hire role requires strong people leadership, imaging informatics expertise, and hands-on understanding of enterprise imaging environments. Location: San Francisco, CA, hybrid on-site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training.
  • Experience in imaging IT, radiology applications, PACS, VNA, or enterprise imaging environments.
  • Strong knowledge of DICOM and HL7; working knowledge of imaging workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Clinical Applications and Imaging IT analysts.
  • Partner with IT and departmental leadership on strategic planning and priorities.
  • Oversee support and service delivery for enterprise imaging applications including PACS, VNA, Epic Radiant, diagnostic viewers, and imaging post-processing systems.
  • Provide leadership across imaging workflows involving DICOM, HL7, networking, interfaces, and image storage/distribution.
  • Manage staff development, coaching, and performance management.
  • Support project delivery, change management, and portfolio management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clinical, technical, and operational teams to develop patient-centric imaging solutions.
  • Maintain ITIL and SDLC practices across the team.
  • Participate in after-hours/on-call coverage as required.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Radiology Imaging Applications Manager to lead a team supporting mission-critical clinical imaging applications within a large health system. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity requiring a strong combination of people leadership, imaging informatics expertise, and technical understanding of enterprise imaging environments.

Contract to Hire
Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid on-site)
Pay: $90-100/hour
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of Clinical Applications and Imaging IT analysts.
  • Partner with IT and departmental leadership on strategic planning, team priorities, processes, and objectives.
  • Oversee support and service delivery for enterprise imaging applications, including PACS, VNA, Epic Radiant, diagnostic and enterprise clinical viewers, voice recognition, and imaging post-processing systems.
  • Provide leadership across imaging workflows and technologies involving DICOM, HL7, networking, interfaces, and image storage/distribution.
  • Manage and develop technical staff, including coaching, performance management, workload prioritization, and professional development.
  • Support project delivery, change management, application portfolio management, and ongoing technology/infrastructure initiatives.
  • Partner across clinical, technical, and operational teams to develop patient-centric imaging solutions.
  • Maintain strong ITIL and SDLC practices across the team.
  • Participate in after-hours/on-call coverage as required.
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical staff.
  • Strong experience within Imaging IT, radiology applications, PACS, VNA, or enterprise imaging environments.
  • Working knowledge of DICOM and HL7.
  • Experience managing a software/application support team in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including routing, firewalls, load balancers, and network security.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives across multiple teams or departments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Epic Radiant and/or Bridges certification.
  • Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP).
  • Experience with HL7 FHIR and DICOMweb.
  • ARRT or other clinical license.
  • Advanced degree.
