Job summary

BioNews Services seeks IgG4 community members to join as freelance columnists for IgG4-RD News, launching soon. You will write personal essays to inform, inspire, empathize, and advise a broad audience including patients, caregivers, medical teams, and researchers.

As a columnist, you will meet 2x monthly deadlines, communicate with editors, submit 400-800 word drafts, and complete HR training. You must be an IgG4 community member to apply.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with writing for an audience.
• At least three months’ direct experience with having or caring for someone with IgG4.
• Caregivers must be direct relatives, guardians, or spouses.
• Experience in being professionally edited for publication.
• Experience in generating a blog or column.
• Participation in support groups, internet forums, or community groups relevant to IgG4.
• Fundamentals of how IgG4 works.
• The content needs or wants of the IgG4 community.
• Native or fluent English writing and reading abilities.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill 2x monthly deadlines as agreed upon on hire.
• Communicate efficiently with your managers and editors.
• Submit 400-800 word drafts that adhere to Bionews policies and procedures.
• Drafts should not require more than 45 minutes to edit, aside from exceptions.
• Fulfill revisions as requested by editors in a timely manner.
• Complete training assigned by Bionews HR.
