Job summary

Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) seeks an Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 1 for a full-time role in Norcross. The position focuses on issuing licenses, identity cards, and learner permits in compliance with state laws, serving a diverse public with attention to accuracy and customer service.

Role includes potential leadership duties, salary of $32,000 annually plus a $3,500 supplement, and opportunities within a large state agency.

Qualifications

Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
Completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
A valid Georgia Class C or equivalent License is required and must be maintained while employed in this position.
At least one (1) year of Face-to-face Customer Service experience within the last five years.
At least one (1) year of Face-to-face experience with cash transactions including handling cash, daily reconciliation, and processing credit card payments within the last five years.
Comfortable working with computer and internet technology.

Responsibilities

Working with citizens to ensure applications, records and documents are completed accurately.
Accompanying drivers in vehicles, both in a traditional and virtual capacity, to evaluate their ability to adhere to Georgia’s driving laws.
Conducting driving examinations for motorcycle and commercial licenses in accordance with state law and regulations.
Operating visual testing equipment.
Accurately collecting payments via cash or credit cards.
