Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a dedicated Nurse Tech to support patient transfers, meal deliveries, and feeding assistance in the Medical ICU. This on-site role emphasizes strong organization, care coordination, and patient-centered service.

You will train new staff and help maintain efficient unit operations while responding promptly to patient needs and performing essential clinical tasks. The position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to patient care, with on-site shifts and a culture

Qualifications

• Completion of specified nursing-related training or certification per the required pathways.
• Experience with direct patient care in clinical settings within the last three years.
• Willingness to complete any required UAP training and clinical logging within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing/ancillary staff with transferring patients and delivering meals and feeding assistance.
• Organize workload, manage multiple tasks, and maintain orderly, responsive service; answer unit phones promptly.
• Educate and train new staff in the Care Team Associate role.
• Perform duties in routine and emergent situations as directed by nursing staff and unit management.
• Perform patient position changes, equipment handling, hygiene care, basic dressings, finger-stick glucose checks, and venipuncture as needed.
• Ensure accurate and timely entry into the bed-management system.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and document vitals, intake/output, height, and weight as directed.
• Complete any unit/department specific duties outlined in department documents.

Education

Fundamentals of Nursing course (within 90 days)

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or CNA exam registration

PCT certification

Direct patient care experience in past 3 years

UAP training program with clinical log (within 180 days)

Nursing licensure candidacy (past 3 years)

Nursing program outside the US awaiting licensure
