Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a Nurse Tech to support patient transfers, meal delivery, and feeding assistance in the Acute Surgical Care department. You will work daytime shifts with every-other-weekend rotation, from 0700 to 1930, contributing to a patient-centered team.

The role includes training new staff, managing multiple tasks, and basic clinical checks, using bed-management systems. If you have CNA/MA experience or nursing program credentials, you may qualify. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Completion of Fundamentals of Nursing course within 180 days (or equivalent).
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or CNA exam registration.
• Direct patient care experience in past 3 years (MA, CNA, EMT, or surgical tech).
• Completion of UAP training program and clinical log within 180 days.
• Nursing licensure candidacy or nursing program completion outside the U.S. awaiting licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing/ancillary staff with patient transfers (bed, stretcher, wheelchair).
• Deliver meals and assist with patient feeding as directed.
• Organize workload and maintain an orderly environment; answer unit telephones and relay messages.
• Educate and train new staff in Care Team Associate responsibilities.
• Perform unit/department duties and basic clinical tasks as directed (vital signs, finger sticks, venipuncture).
• Enter information into the bed-management system promptly and accurately.
• Respond to patient call lights and address needs with professional guest relations.
• Maintain documentation of intake/output, height/weight as directed.
