Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner in Intensivist Medicine to provide direct patient care in critical care settings. The APRN will be credentialed, privileged, and billable as an independent provider under a supervising physician's scope of practice.

The role involves rounding, procedures, hospital admissions/discharges, and on-call support, with supervision and collaboration with the intensivist team.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Texas.
• Texas RN licensure or APRN licensure in Texas; compact privilege may apply.
• APRN board certification for the patient population focus.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients through physical exams and medical histories.
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe or recommend medical therapies and perform procedures per protocol.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans with physicians.
• Counsel patients and families on medical processes and medications.
• Maintain records of treatment plans and outcomes.
