Job summary

Leidos’ Defense Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the Thermal Protection System (TPS) for the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) program. You will work with design and manufacturing to resolve issues, drive manufacturability improvements, and ensure on-time delivery in a low-rate initial production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality processes.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD tools and working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Support Mechanical Engineer activities for the Thermal Protection System (TPS).
• Collaborate with design to incorporate changes that improve manufacturability and production efficiency.
• Work with operations to identify and resolve technical issues impacting manufacturing flow and delivery.
• Develop and refine work instructions with manufacturing engineering to improve processes.
• Provide on-site support for TPS installation and integration activities (~10% classified environments).
• Support RCCA investigations and Failure Review Board processes.
