Job summary

Leidos Defense is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the Hypersonics TPS program within the CHGB initiative. You will create and maintain technical data, apply advanced GD&T, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to push producibility and performance improvements.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree, 2+ years of experience, and proficiency with CAD tools (Creo/CATIA/AutoCAD/SolidWorks).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 2+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (Creo, CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Experience in PLM environments and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience supporting production issues and root-cause analysis.
• Willing to lead meetings with internal/external stakeholders.
• Strong communication, detail-orientation, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Technical Data Package artifacts (drawings, BOMs, specs).
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 in designs.
• Revise designs to improve producibility and efficiency.
• Collaborate with IPTs for drawing updates and production support.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist corrective actions.
• Disposition non-conformances and aid RCCA activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage tasks/projects with guidance from senior engineers.
