Job summary

Leidos' Defense Systems invites a Hypersonics Design Engineer to advance hypersonic vehicle programs and weapon system development. You will design mechanical components, create TDP artifacts, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, a ABET-accredited engineering degree with 12+ years of experience, and hands-on CAD/PLM expertise (Creo/CATIA/AutoCAD/SolidWorks; Windchill).

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree with 12+ years of experience.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools and PLM environments.
• GD&T knowledge per ASME Y14.5; tolerance analysis.
• Strong engineering drawing, specification and CM basics.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of mechanical components for hypersonic vehicles.
• Create and maintain TDP artifacts, drawings, BOMs and specs.
• Manage interface control drawings and engineering documentation.
• Develop designs with manufacturability and producibility in mind.
• Apply GD&T and perform tolerance analyses to verify requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and cross-disciplinary meetings.
• Support material selection, processes, finishes, fasteners for aerospace/defense.
• Assist prototype fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing.
