Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a registered nurse for the Wound Center’s hyperbaric program. You will assess patients, plan and implement care, monitor treatment, and collaborate with physicians to optimize healing outcomes.

Required qualifications include an RN license, ACLS, and at least three years in acute care. Rotation shifts and local travel may be involved; the role emphasizes leadership, communication, and precise documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Registered Nurse Program.
• Three years experience in an acute care setting.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
• Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Nursing; Healthcare setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients at the Wound Center through an interdisciplinary approach; assesses, plans, provides nursing care and evaluates outcomes.
• Uses assessment data, labs, tests and medications to determine patient status and take timely action.
• Maintains accurate, timely documentation without unapproved abbreviations and adheres to patient identification standards.
• Monitors hyperbaric treatments, records vital signs, and reports abnormal findings to the supervising physician.
• Orders, stocks and maintains supplies; checks equipment and supports front office and other staff as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
