Job summary

HDR is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join its Hydropower team, leading mechanical upgrades and feasibility studies across U.S. hydro facilities. You will work with a multidisciplinary group providing engineering and design services to power clients, focusing on reliability and sustainable infrastructure.

Primary location is Charlotte, NC, with roles across multiple sites. The position offers on-site collaboration, field support, and opportunities to advance to team leadership within HDR's

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Professional engineering license (PE) recognized by state licensing board.
• 5+ years of project execution experience in the Power Market Sector.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office and PLS CAD/AutoCAD/Plant 3D/Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple mechanical projects at hydropower facilities.
• Design and upgrade mechanical systems, performing feasibility studies.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline team and client presentations.
• Prepare cost estimates and assist with proposals.
• Ensure work aligns with budget and schedule.
