Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Hydropower team in the United States. The role focuses on leading mechanical balance of plant upgrades and major equipment enhancements at existing hydro facilities, with responsibilities spanning design, analysis and client collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and PE license are required.
Requires professional engineer license (PE or P.Eng) recognized in the position location.
Experience in Power Market Sector and hydroelectric projects preferred.
Proficiency with NavisWorks, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, Plant 3D and related tools.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical system designs for hydro facilities, including P&IDs and equipment sizing.
Prepare equipment and design specifications for upgrades.
Perform bid evaluations and site inspections as needed.
Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and project managers.
Support feasibility studies and cost estimates for projects.
Lead client communications and contribute to proposals.
