Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Hydropower team. You will lead mechanical design efforts across pump-turbine upgrades and balance of plant projects for utilities nationwide, combining CAD, P&ID work, and feasibility studies.

The role requires a Bachelor of Engineering and PE licensure, with experience in hydropower and 3D design tools. Primary location is Brentwood, TN, with opportunities across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and PE license required.
• Experience executing power market sector projects.
• Proficiency in CAD/3D design software listed in qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical system designs including P&IDs, equipment sizing, layouts and calculations.
• Prepare equipment and design specifications for projects.
• Perform bid evaluations and site inspections as needed.
• Provide field support during installation, testing and start-up.
• Coordinate mechanical workload with multi-disciplinary team.
• Lead multiple projects as mechanical lead where assigned.
