Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Hydropower program in the Southeast. You will take a technical lead on analysis, design, and construction modifications for large-scale dams and critical power infrastructure across the region.

You will drive project workflows, plan geotechnical field investigations, laboratory testing programs, and prepare geotechnical analyses and reports. Preferred candidates hold a Geotechnical/Geological Engineering degree and a NC PE license with 5 years

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized in NC
5 years of geotechnical experience or equivalent
Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation or GIS
Experience with GeoStudio/Ensoft slope, seepage, and foundation software
Ability to perform field investigations and prepare reports(≤140 chars)

Responsibilities

Lead analysis, design, and construction modifications for large-scale dams and power infrastructure
Drive project workflows, planning, and geotechnical investigations
Prepare geotechnical analyses, design calculations, and reports
Review dam safety instrumentation data and perform FE modeling
Support marketing efforts for internal and external clients
