Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Hydropower program in the Southeast. You will take a technical lead on analysis, design, and construction modifications for large-scale dams and critical power infrastructure across the region.

You will drive project workflows, plan geotechnical field investigations, laboratory testing programs, and prepare geotechnical analyses and reports. Preferred candidates hold a Geotechnical/Geological Engineering degree and a NC PE license with 5 years

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized in NC
  • 5 years of geotechnical experience or equivalent
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation or GIS
  • Experience with GeoStudio/Ensoft slope, seepage, and foundation software
  • Ability to perform field investigations and prepare reports(≤140 chars)

Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis, design, and construction modifications for large-scale dams and power infrastructure
  • Drive project workflows, planning, and geotechnical investigations
  • Prepare geotechnical analyses, design calculations, and reports
  • Review dam safety instrumentation data and perform FE modeling
  • Support marketing efforts for internal and external clients
