Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Hydropower program. You will lead analysis, design, and construction for large-scale dam modifications and infrastructure across the Southeast. You will drive workflows, manage geotechnical investigations, and prepare analyses and reports.

The role requires PE licensure, 5+ years in geotechnical engineering, and experience with GeoStudio, Bentley, and GIS tools. Travel to field sites will be involved as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience with geotechnical software and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, design and construction of dam modifications and facilities.
• Drive project workflows, planning and geotechnical investigations.
• Prepare geotechnical analyses, design calculations and reports.
• Review dam safety instrumentation data and FE models.
• Prepare detailed design drawings and construction specs.
• Support marketing efforts and client interactions.
