Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. seeks a Mechanical Engineer with hydro-project experience to support owner’s consulting engagements in refurbishment, modernization, and new plants.

You will assist with planning, CAD drafting, specifications, and cost estimates in a dynamic office and field environment. The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 5–10 years of relevant experience, and proficiency with CAD/FEA tools; PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• Professional engineering license preferred.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with hydro unit design and commercial contracts is a plus.
• Ability to work with CAD/FEA tools and generate drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, CAD drafting/modeling, and preparation of manufacturing plans and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with clients to identify goals and develop strategies to achieve them.
• Perform mechanical design calculations for turbines/generators and prepare design basis documents.
• Apply efficient manufacturing processes and ensure quality control and test plans.
• Participate in installation, commissioning, and field measurements of equipment.
• Review contracts for equipment supply and installation and prepare client reports.
