Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to hydro projects including refurbishment, modernization and new plants. You will design rotating equipment, perform calculations, and support manufacturing and field activities across domestic and international sites.

The role requires strong CAD/FEA skills, office and field work, and the ability to travel as needed. A PE license is preferred and 5–10 years of relevant experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree required; PE preferred.
• Strong understanding of hydro mechanical design and calculations.
• Experience with rotating equipment and project coordination is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design, CAD drafting and manufacturing plans for hydro projects.
• Communicate with clients and teams to align on goals and priorities.
• Perform design calculations, prepare design bases and boundary conditions for turbines/generators.
