Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with hydro experience to contribute to refurbishment, modernization, and new plant projects across major U.S. locations. The role combines design, analysis, and field activities in a dynamic team environment.

You will perform CAD drafting, create manufacturing plans and specs, conduct calculations, and support installation and commissioning while upholding Stantec standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• Professional engineering license preferred.
• 5-10 years experience required.
• Confined Space OSHA training or similar is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, CAD drafting, and manufacturing plans.
• Identify goals with clients and propose strategies.
• Perform mechanical design calculations for turbines/generators.
• Review manufacturing processes and quality-control plans.
• Assist field installation and commissioning of equipment.
• Conduct site measurements and condition assessments.
• Interface with clients, suppliers and engineers.
• Review contracts for equipment supply and installation.
• Prepare reports and client presentations.
• Adhere to Stantec standards and communicate findings.
