Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 2 years insurance verification and prior authorization experience.
• Experience with HIPAA, Medicare, and insurer websites.
• HCPCS and ICD-10 billing codes knowledge would help.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and 45 WPM typing.

Responsibilities

• Perform insurance verifications and authorizations for orthotics, prosthetics, and other devices to ensure coverage.
• Collaborate with team and communicate coverage requirements for patients.
• Explain benefits to patients and collect payments if possible.
• Process authorization requests via phone or carrier portals.
• Create patient profiles in the Medical Record system and manage required documentation.
• Update notes and inform management of changes in requirements.
• Provide timely, professional patient service and training participation.
• Support HIPAA compliance and process improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
