Job summary

The position requires 2 days in-office and 3 days remote, with attention to HIPAA protections, professional communication, and efficient processing of insurance requests. Experience in medical billing is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in medical billing, preferably orthotics, prosthetics, or DME.
• Experience with HIPAA regulations and Medicare/insurance portals.
• Experience using HCPCS and ICD-10 billing codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform insurance verifications and authorizations for orthotic/prosthetic devices.
• Collaborate with team and communicate insurance requirements.
• Explain benefits, co-insurance and deductibles to patients.
• Process authorization requests via phone or online portals.
• Maintain patient accounts and documentation for approvals.
