Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, part of Ottobock.care, seeks a hybrid Verification of Benefits & Prior Authorization Coordinator to support clinics in Pennsylvania and Maryland. The role focuses on accurate, timely prior authorization and benefits verification across offices, with a mix of in-office and remote work.

You will engage with carriers, patients, and teams to ensure correct coverage, maintain records, and stay compliant with HIPAA and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks to completion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in professional settings.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient typing (minimum 45 wpm) and ten-key.
• Experience with HIPAA regulations and medical billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform insurance verifications and authorizations for orthotic/prosthetic device care.
• Communicate requirements and coverage details to patients and team members.
• Explain copays and deductibles to patients and collect when possible.
• Process authorization requests via phone or online portals with carriers.
• Maintain patient accounts and medical documentation for authorization and records.
