Job summary

Ottobock is seeking a hybrid Verification of Benefits & Prior Authorization Coordinator to support our Pennsylvania and Maryland clinics. This role ensures accurate, timely prior authorizations and benefits verifications for orthotic and prosthetic devices, with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote.

Support across multiple offices and HIPAA compliance are essential. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in medical billing, familiarity with HCPCS/ICD-10 codes, and strong communication skills to assist

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years in medical billing with orthotics/prosthetics or DME preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA, HCPCS, and ICD-10 billing codes.
• Strong verbal and written communication; good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Verify and authorize insurance coverages for orthotic/prosthetic devices.
• Coordinate with team to meet patient insurance requirements.
• Explain benefits, co-insurance, and deductibles to patients.
• Process authorization requests via phone and online portals.
• Maintain patient profiles in the Medical Record system and update notes.
• Flag changes in payer requirements to management for updates.
