Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team in the Charlotte area on EHV transmission projects, both overhead and underground. The role requires a civil/electrical/mechanical background and experience with PLS-CADD/POLE, collaborating with clients, planners and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems (Bachelor’s) or 1+ years (Master’s).
• Work effectively in a team and independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to interact with clients and project teams.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design EHV transmission line projects for overhead and underground systems.
• Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other standards to design work.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans and specifications.
• Prepare material procurement and construction documents.
• Coordinate with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting and construction management personnel.
