Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Physical Engineer to join our power delivery team. You will work on projects for electric utilities from 12kV up to 500kV, employing digital logic design, AC/DC circuits, and substation drawings to deliver robust electrical solutions.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with 2–3 days in office in locations such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston or Orlando, plus remote days and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 2+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Senior/Lead: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 6+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Experience with grounding studies, lightning protection, and lighting studies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with internal teams and clients to meet project needs.
• Willingness to travel to project and/or client sites.

Responsibilities

• Experience in executing substation physical projects.
• Read and design substation physical drawings such as one-line drawings, three-line drawings, plan-sections drawings, foundation, grounding drawings.
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical.
• Attend site visits at customer locations.
