Job summary

Leidos, a trusted technology solutions provider, seeks a Substation Physical Engineer to design substations from 12kV to 500kV for electric utilities. Hybrid schedule: 2–3 days in office at Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, or Orlando, with remote work on other days, plus opportunities for professional development and leadership growth.

Responsibilities include executing substation physical designs, reading and creating one-line and plan-section drawings, preparing BOMs, and attending client site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field with 2+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Senior/Lead level requires 6+ years in substation physical design.
• Experience with grounding studies/lightning and protection design.
• Strong communication and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Execute substation physical design projects and read/draw one-line, three-line, and plan-section drawings.
• Prepare and verify bill of materials for substation projects.
• Attend site visits at customer locations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to meet project needs.
• Maintain schedules and ensure quality control checks on designs.
