Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mid/Senior/Lead Substation Physical Engineer to join our Power Delivery team across the South region, including Houston. You will work on projects for electric utilities at voltages from 12kV to 500kV, applying knowledge of digital logic, AC/DC circuits, and substation drawings to deliver safe, reliable electrical designs.

This role offers hybrid schedules (3 days in office in Houston or other listed cities) with 2–3 days on-site and opportunities for training, mentorship,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field with 2+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Experience with grounding studies, lightning protection and grounding design.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with internal teams and clients to meet project needs.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Execute substation physical projects.
• Read and design substation drawings such as one-line, plan-section and grounding drawings.
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical.
• Attend site visits at customer locations.
