Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is seeking an experienced Software Asset Manager to oversee and secure the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring integrity, availability, and compliance of critical systems. The role involves deploying, maintaining, and securing security tools, access controls, monitoring performance, and collaborating with security engineers and IT teams.

This position is eligible to work hybrid or onsite in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy, offering a pathway

Qualifications

• 5+ years IT/ application development experience required.
• Experience with Software Asset Management preferred.
• Active ITAM Certification or willingness to obtain within 18 months.
• Experience with ServiceNow and SAM Pro preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or technical training preferred; high school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain servers, networks, and IT systems.
• Install, configure, and update software and hardware components.
• Monitor system performance and perform regular maintenance.
• Implement security best practices for firewalls, backups, and access controls.
• Provide user support and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform backups and disaster recovery.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Plan and implement software and system upgrades.
• Document configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
• Assist with network management and ensure connectivity.
• Respond to system alerts and analyze root causes.
• Manage cloud-based infrastructure and on-prem integration.
• Stay updated with industry trends.
• Must be accessible during non-working hours for upgrades/outages.
