Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to independently execute and support the firm’s pricing strategy. You will partner with lawyers, Client Development and Engagement, and Finance to design, implement, and track client fee agreements, balancing analytical rigor with strong communication and process management.

You will own pricing tools and databases, build matter budgets, and provide data-driven insights for partner negotiations and practice leadership.

Formación

4-6 years of pricing, financial analysis, or related roles within professional services (law firm experience preferred).
Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of financial metrics such as realization, leverage, effective rate, and margin.
Hands-on experience building with generative AI tools, such as Claude and Harvey, including prompt design, workflow automation, and light scripting or low-code tools.
Sound judgment on responsible AI use in a law firm setting, including confidentiality, data privacy, and verification of AI-generated work.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple requests with competing deadlines.
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with the ability to utilize tools to compile and analyze data and recommend and/or implement solutions to complex problems.
Significant working understanding of alternative fee arrangements and pricing of legal/professional services.

Responsabilidades

Collaborate with partners to develop and evaluate fee proposals, budgets, and AFAs.
Provide financial modeling and analysis to support client negotiations and business development.
Draft first-pass fee estimates from precedents within familiar practice areas.
Assist partners in preparing and securing approvals from the Finance Committee with data-driven insights.
Present findings and educate partners on pricing trends and firm guidelines.
Build and monitor matter budgets; analyze variances and performance drivers.
Track fee agreements and matter performance against expectations; highlight trends and risks.
Prepare reports and dashboards on pricing outcomes, client behavior, and profitability metrics.
Use AI-assisted analytics to speed data pulls, draft estimates, and flag anomalies.
Own recurring data pulls and datasets end to end; maintain pricing databases, tools, and templates.
Ensure pricing data is captured consistently for robust analysis and reporting.
Partner with IT and Finance to improve tools and workflows; prototype AI pricing workflows.
Apply prompts and iterations to produce reliable pricing narratives and proposals.
Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy and fit against source data; document checks and limitations; ensure compliance with client confidentiality and firm AI policies; pilot new AI use cases.
Drive adoption of consistent scoping, budgeting, and fee negotiation approaches; contribute to firm-wide value delivery initiatives.
Support pricing in RFPs, client negotiations, and fee discussions; prepare strategic value-driven proposals.
