Job summary

Cambia’s Data & Analytics Engineering Team is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to serve as technical lead for a team of Data Engineers. You will design, build, tune, and own scalable Snowflake ELT pipelines and data models that power analytics and operational reporting.

The role emphasizes mentoring, setting standards, and contributing to platform strategy, with opportunities for growth into principal, architecture, or people leadership, in a collaborative, enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering, with senior or lead experience.
• College degree in CS, Mathematics, Business Administration, or related fields; may be substituted by experience in health care.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Data Engineers; drive engineering standards and best practices.
• Independently design, build, tune, and own scalable Snowflake ELT pipelines, data models, and platform artifacts supporting analytics/operational workloads.
• Optimize performance (query tuning, compute sizing, workload isolation, cost management).
• Partner with analytics, product, governance, QA, and business teams to deliver high‑quality, observable data solutions.
• Contribute to platform strategy, risk assessments, and adoption of modern practices (DataOps, CI/CD, AI tools).
• Ensure data quality, testing, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Demonstrate technical leadership by breaking down complex work and delivering value in squad/model environments.
