Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a SCADA engineer to support design, development and delivery of the SOLV SCADA solution for utility-scale solar and storage projects. The role offers hybrid work with in-office days in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR, or remote options; location details will be discussed in interview.

Responsibilities include designing SCADA components, managing data historians and HMIs, coordinating with field teams, and ensuring project deliverables meet standards and schedules.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of SCADA engineering experience in renewable energy, industrial or utility-scale PV/BESS/Wind.
• Proficiency with Python programming.
• Experience with Ignition SCADA platform.
• Knowledge of relational databases and SCADA applications.
• Familiarity with PLC environments (Schweitzer RTAC, Allen-Bradley, GE/Emerson RX3i).
• Experience installing/commissioning SCADA networks (Fiber, RS-232/RS-485, Ethernet).
• Knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA/DA.
• Ability to read/develop power system, networking, electrical and control diagrams.
• Strong communication and ability to work with subcontractors and field personnel.
• Proficiency with project management, scheduling and task tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute design and development of SCADA integration components for utility-scale renewables.
• Define and implement product design standards with the team.
• Review project-specific requirements for scope.
• Generate device points lists, HMIs, assets, test plans and checklists.
• Program and commission SCADA servers, data historians, and HMIs.
• Review closeout documentation to verify contractual deliverables.
• Provide intermediate technical support for diverse SCADA configurations.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers and partners.
• Maintain a centralized knowledge base.
• Apply diagnostics to troubleshoot complex plant systems.
• Coordinate with customers and field technicians for on-site commissioning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for platform development and data integration.
• Provide project status to management and support risk mitigation.
• Promote NERC compliance in programming and commissioning.
