Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist II for the Northeast region. The role offers a hybrid schedule from Parsippany or Boston offices, or fully remote from select U.S. states.

You will handle multi-party claims, assess liability and coverage, and develop case strategies for timely resolutions. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 3+ years in Claims/Insurance, with adjuster licensure and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Claims/Insurance
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in Claims/Insurance area with varying exposure
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products
• Microsoft Office experience

Responsibilities

• Document claims file by accurately capturing and updating data within authority limits
• Determine liability by gathering facts and analyzing relevant information
• Assess coverage and determine policy applicability
• Develop case strategy and case evaluation to reach timely resolutions
• Establish reserves and monitor claims value throughout the cycle
• Estimate damages and negotiate settlements within authority limits
• Communicate with customers and stakeholders to maintain service quality
• Manage vendor relationships and outside contractor scope within approved networks
• Ensure compliance with laws and internal controls
• Refer claims to subrogation or fraud teams when appropriate
• Support risk insight and growth through data and trend reporting
• Protect confidential information and maintain professional standards
