Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist II for the Northeast region. This role offers a hybrid work schedule from Parsippany or Boston offices, or fully remote in eligible states.

Responsible for handling multi-party WC claims of varying exposure with a customer-centric approach. Key duties include documenting files, evaluating liability and coverage, developing case strategy, setting reserves, and negotiating settlements within authority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in Claims/Insurance or related field, or equivalent
• Zurich Apprentice path with 3+ years experience also acceptable
• Alternative routes include Zurich Claims Training + 2+ years experience or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Document claims file by updating data per best practices for low to moderate exposure claims.
• Determine liability by gathering facts and applying applicable law.
• Verify coverage and determine if loss falls within policy.
• Develop case strategy and reserves within authority limits.
• Assess damages and negotiate settlements within applicable authority.
• Maintain compliance with state/federal regulations and internal controls.
• Communicate proactively with customers and vendors to ensure service quality.
