Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist II for the Northeast region. The role supports a hybrid option from Parsippany or Boston offices or remote work from listed states.

You will handle multi-party workers' compensation claims of varying exposure and complexity, delivering efficient, customer-centric service. Core duties include claims data capture, liability and coverage analysis, case strategy development, reserve management, damages assessment, settlement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of Claims/Insurance experience OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 3+ years experience OR
• Zurich Claims Training Program with 2+ years experience OR
• High School Diploma with 5+ years experience in Claims/Insurance OR
• Must obtain/maintain adjuster license(s)
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products
• Microsoft Office experience

Responsibilities

• Document claims files with accurate data for low to moderate exposure claims.
• Assess liability by gathering facts and applying applicable law.
• Determine policy coverage and whether loss falls within coverage.
• Develop case strategy and evaluate case to achieve timely resolution.
• Establish reserves within authority limits and review through claims cycle.
• Assess damages and calculate permissible damages.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits.
• Maintain customer service by proactive communication and adherence to protocols.
• Manage expenses by coordinating with vendor networks and outside contractors.
• Ensure legal compliance with state/federal laws and internal controls.
