Job summary

Fuss & O’Neill is seeking an Environmental Permitting Lead to join our Water and Natural Resources team in Boston. You will guide Massachusetts environmental permitting projects from strategy to agency coordination, working with scientists, engineers, planners, and designers to move projects toward implementation.

The ideal candidate brings MA permitting expertise, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills to manage multiple projects, collaborate with agencies, and ensure regulatory

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing environmental permit submissions under local, state, and federal regulations.
• Demonstrated experience with Massachusetts environmental permitting and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to lead multiple permitting projects simultaneously with strong project management and leadership skills.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead Massachusetts natural resources permitting activities, serving as a technical and project management resource for permitting strategy and coordination.
• Manage preparation and submission of environmental permit applications across varied projects.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, municipalities, clients, and stakeholders to secure timely approvals.
• Develop permitting strategies and communicate regulatory requirements and impacts on schedules and design.
• Oversee budgets and schedules for permitting and natural resources work.
• Coordinate field studies, delineations, and investigations to support permitting and compliance.
