Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an intermediate design engineer in environmental site remediation, based anywhere in the United States. This hybrid role offers collaboration with a global team and the flexibility to work from both office and home to meet project delivery goals.

You will apply technical design experience to remedial actions and systems, write work plans and design drawings, and contribute to reports and specifications while learning from experienced staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering or other closely related engineering field.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Knowledge and experience with environmental remediation technologies, systems, or remedial actions.
• Minimum of 4 years of on-the-job experience in the environmental remediation industry, with the ability to provide project examples.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience designing environmental remedial actions or remediation systems, with the ability to provide project examples.
• On-the-job experience writing specifications, preparing basis of design reports, and preparing/developing design drawings.
• Ability to communicate concisely and proactively, via written and verbal communications, with team members.
• Ability to work remotely with teams located nationwide.
• Based within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design environmental remedial actions or remediation systems with guidance from leads.
• Evaluate site conditions, determine data needs, and assess remedial alternatives.
• Perform engineering calculations and develop designs and design drawings.
• Prepare work plans, basis of design reports, and design documents.
• Prepare and write technical reports and design specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly.
• Travel to field as needed and ensure health and safety compliance.
