Qualifications

• Five years of fleet management, operations, or field experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience leading union-represented or bargaining-unit employees.
• Experience managing operating or maintenance budgets.
• Knowledge of fleet maintenance programs, regulatory inspections, recalls, warranties, and repair-quality controls.
• Knowledge of federal, California, and local requirements affecting commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Leads safe garage and fleet maintenance operations across multiple facilities within an assigned geographic area.
• Supervises, coaches, develops, and holds accountable garage operations personnel.
• Plans, prioritizes, and directs preventive maintenance, inspections, campaigns, recalls, warranties, and repairs.
• Ensures maintenance and repairs are completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and with proper documentation.
• Monitors compliance with policies, standards, procedures, and regulatory obligations and addresses deficiencies.
• Reviews operational performance and fleet data, and develops corrective actions when needed.
• Ensures accuracy and timeliness of fleet records and notifications.
• Manages budgets, monitors expenses, and identifies opportunities for cost savings without compromising safety.
• Partners with internal clients and vendors to resolve issues and support operations.
• Supports incident reporting, emergency readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
