Job summary

Recology San Francisco seeks an Equipment Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations for a large fleet of vehicles and processing equipment. You will enforce policies, supervise staff, and coordinate with leadership on replacements and safety programs.

The role requires experience in fleet maintenance, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and strong leadership. A CDL and valid license are essential, with some driving required to support operations.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid CDL Class A with no air brake or auto transmission restrictions within 6 months of hire.
• High school diploma or GED; a related BS degree is preferred.
• Experience overseeing maintenance for vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of DOT/CHP inspections and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversees maintenance operations for vehicles and equipment and enforces policies.
• Procures parts, supplies, tools, and machinery; contracts for external services.
• Advises on vehicle/equipment replacement in coordination with leadership.
• Manages budget planning for maintenance activities.
• Conducts periodic inspections and audits of vehicles and facilities for safety and compliance.
• Identifies hazards and ensures personnel safety compliance.
• Investigates damage, loss, and financial impacts of incidents.
• Drives a company vehicle as needed; performs other duties.
