Job summary

The Governor’s Office of Community Service (ServeMontana) is seeking a Training Specialist to support Montana’s AmeriCorps programs by assessing training needs, coordinating learning opportunities, and strengthening capacity across the state’s national service network.

The role develops annual training plans, delivers in-person and virtual sessions, and connects grantees with a statewide and national TA network.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating training or capacity-building programs in public/nonprofit/educational settings.
• Experience developing/workshops applying adult learning principles.
• Proficiency with virtual meeting tools, event planning systems, and standard software.
• Experience engaging diverse communities or organizations in public service goals.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Degree supplementing experience is possible but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate statewide training initiatives for AmeriCorps State programs, members, and staff.
• Assess training needs and shape priorities for learning programs.
• Plan major learning events and manage logistics, speakers, and engagement.
• Deliver in-person and virtual sessions using adult learning principles.
• Promote collaboration with service and nonprofit networks to expand capacity.
• Provide responsive customer service to programs and partners.
• Reinforce AmeriCorps grant requirements in training content and communications.
