Job summary

Dakota County, based in West St. Paul, MN, seeks a Program Trainer Specialist to lead Public Assistance training initiatives and mentor staff in daily unit operations. The role focuses on policy/procedure trainings and improving casework performance.

The position requires collaboration with lead workers and trainers, guiding staff through complex eligibility processes across medical, SNAP, cash, childcare, and emergency programs. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree AND 1 year of experience with a Public Assistance agency.
• Associate's degree AND 3 years of experience with a Public Assistance agency.
• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) AND 5 years of experience with a Public Assistance agency.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a commitment to increase cultural diversity County wide and supports diversity initiatives.
• Train existing employees using in-person and remote classroom training and hands-on models.
• Assist in supervising a public assistance unit by assigning work and providing training and advice on procedures, policies and programs; evaluate probationary performance; act as a central resource for customers; resolve eligibility issues.
