Job summary

BKF is seeking a Project Accountant to join our accounting team. The role focuses on managing invoices, project costs, and financial reporting with accuracy and reliability.

Strong math skills and organizational abilities are essential in a dynamic, office-based setting with occasional hybrid-remote work. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Architecture or Engineering industry is preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and oral).
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Solid knowledge of Excel.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to interface with project managers, clients, and architects.
• Deltek Vantagepoint Accounting system experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end closing process and reconciliations.
• Prepare invoices for clients and review draft invoices for appropriate labor and expense charges; ensure accuracy with billing rates and ceilings.
• Assist Project Manager in reviewing project costs (budget vs actual).
• Research client invoicing questions and fulfill requests for invoice support documentation.
• Prepare project financial reports (e.g., WIP aging, AR aging, budget vs actual).
• Support project managers in project setup and maintenance in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Troubleshoot and resolve project billing issues.
• Perform other assignments as required.
• Report to the Oakland office one day per week; hybrid-remote the remaining days.
