UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Patient Service Specialist for Reliant Pediatrics & Adult Medicine in Worcester, MA. The role emphasizes high-quality patient service, accurate data entry, and coordination with care teams in a hybrid-remote setup after initial in-office training.

Requirements include a High School Diploma/GED, 1+ year of office experience (preferably medical), and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Onsite training is required for about six weeks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience in an office setting, preferably in a medical setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Onsite training for approximately 6 weeks at start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume of calls for a defined region with standard productivity metrics.
• Screen patient inquiries (phone or portal) and route to appropriate team members; review prior activity.
• Process forms, renewals, referrals, prior authorizations and other admin needs per standard work.
• Document calls in the EHR and update patient records with accurate demographics and insurance information.
• Maintain effective communication with patients and interdisciplinary teams; participate in problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Deescalate upset callers and escalate complex issues to a supervisor when needed.
