Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Patient Appointment Services Specialist to independently create and schedule appointments within the EMR for a multispecialty practice. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, and explain co-pays and referrals to ensure patients arrive prepared for procedures.

The role requires strong customer service, excellent communication, and computer skills. Hybrid work with on-site expectations up to two days weekly near Phoenix.

Competenze

• High school diploma/GED and at least two years of customer service experience in a front-desk/office setting; OR an Associate’s Degree.
• Must complete Medical Terminology course within six months if not medically educated.
• Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving and ability to handle conflicting demands.
• Strong keyboarding and computer skills; basic understanding of insurance terminology.
• Hybrid role located within 100 miles of Mayo Clinic Phoenix, AZ campus with onsite two days per week.

Mansioni

• Create and schedule appointments within the electronic medical record for a multispecialty practice.
• Gather patient demographics and provider information to assess the nature of the request and determine appointment area.
• Advise patients on co-payments, referral authorizations, and/or pre-service deposits to ensure timely arrival.
• Collect guarantor and insurance details to help assess eligibility.
• Navigate multiple systems and respond to inquiries, aiming for 80% on‑the‑phone availability and accurate electronic communications.
