Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Patient Appointment Services Specialist to independently create and schedule appointments across a multispecialty practice. You will gather patient demographics and provider information to determine the appropriate appointment area and advise on co-pays and referrals to ensure the patient arrives prepared for their visit.

The role requires navigating complex scheduling workflows, handling calls and online requests, and ensuring accurate electronic communications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of customer service experience.
• Associate's Degree preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; problem solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Create and schedule appointments in the electronic medical record for a multispecialty practice.
• Advise patients regarding co-pays, referral authorizations, and/or pre-service deposits to ensure timely arrival.
• Collect guarantor and insurance details to determine patient eligibility.
• Navigate multiple scheduling workflows and handle calls, online requests, and faxes; maintain accuracy in all communications.
