Job summary

Fenwick & West seeks a Legal Support Analyst to support attorneys and clients, ensuring compliance with firm policies. The role is hybrid, with 40 hours a week, Monday–Friday, and a schedule depending on business needs.

The candidate will create reports, prepare USPTO filings, and manage documents across multiple databases and tools, working closely with a supervisor in Patent Operations. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm and a bachelor’s degree or

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write routine office correspondence.
• Strong understanding of legal transactions and calendaring.
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks under time pressure.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with a diverse group of clients and staff.
• Willingness to travel to other locations if required.
• Non-exempt status as described in the posting.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience/certifications.
• 2–3 years patent prosecution experience in a law firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Generate reports from firm and external patent databases for clients and attorneys.
• Prepare and organize materials for USPTO Information Disclosure Statements.
• Prepare and send and record documents with the USPTO, including assignments.
• Prepare and file US National Stage (371) applications with the USPTO.
• Monitor upcoming patent deadlines and produce related materials.
• Draft, revise, and finalize patent documents and filings.
• Proofread and suggest edits on patent documents.
• Support attorneys, patent agents, and paralegals as needed.
