Job summary

Fenwick & West seeks a Legal Support Analyst to back attorneys with patent-related tasks in a hybrid work setting across U.S. offices. The role involves drafting, filing, and organizing patent documents and managing deadlines with precision.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in patent prosecution, a bachelor’s degree (preferred), and strong experience with document management systems and IP databases. The position is non-exempt and 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm environment.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent experience or relevant certifications.
• Strong organizational and calendaring skills in a professional services setting.

Responsibilities

• Generate reports from firm databases and patent portfolio databases for clients and attorneys.
• Prepare Information Disclosure Statements and file with the USPTO.
• Prepare and file US National Stage (371) applications with the USPTO.
• Draft and finalize patent documents, correspondence, and filings.
• Monitor deadlines and communicate urgent items to attorneys and paralegals.
• Organize file histories from USPTO and other jurisdictions; manage documents using firm systems.
• Utilize Office software and IP databases for document preparation and record keeping.
