Job summary

Fenwick & West LLP seeks a Legal Support Analyst to assist attorneys with patent-related tasks and document management. The role supports filing with the USPTO, draft and revise patent documents, and monitor deadlines in a hybrid work setting.

Ideal candidates have 2-3 years patent prosecution experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. The position reports to the Associate Director, Patent Operations.

Qualifications

• Read and write routine office correspondence and forms with accuracy.
• Understand legal transactions, calendaring requirements, and compliance procedures.
• Organize and prioritize many tasks under pressure and deadlines.
• Communicate clearly with clients, attorneys, staff and vendors.
• Willingness to travel to other off-site locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Generate reports from firm and external patent databases on request.
• Prepare and organize materials for USPTO Information Disclosure Statements.
• Prepare and file US National Stage (371) patent applications with the USPTO.
• Draft, revise and finalize patent documents and filings.
• Monitor upcoming patent-related deadlines and alert attorneys as needed.
• Utilize firm databases and Microsoft Office suite for document management.
