Job summary

Join Sargent & Lundy in Washington, DC, and contribute to multi-disciplinary design efforts for nuclear projects. You will draft using MicroStation, expand 3D design skills, and collaborate with engineers to prepare installation layouts and master sketches.

The role offers a hybrid schedule—three days in the office and two remote days—with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or HS + equivalent technical design experience required.
5+ years drafting experience using standard CAD tools (MicroStation).
Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.
Knowledge of MicroStation and related drafting tools.
Ability to multi-task across projects and manage workflow.

Responsibilities

Utilize and expand drafting skills in a multidisciplinary design team.
Apply computer-aided drafting skills and receive training in 3D design environments.
Create master sketches to scale showing relationships of installations to existing facilities.
Attend client site walkdowns with experienced designers to gather information.
Explain drawings to vendors/contractors for appropriate design adjustments.
